ValueMaker generates off-line Excel report versions that you can share with other users in your organization: Many commercial tools on the market allow to collect info from a database into Excel via custom spreadsheet functions ("proprietary add-ins"), but require to be connected to the database*. CellworXs® replaces those custom functions in your spreadsheet with values and thus allows sharing the spreadsheet with other users. In addition you can restore the original formulas even after saving the workbook!
A relief for users of retrieve spreadsheets, similar proprietary Excel retrieve add-ins* or highly linked Excel workbooks to:
- Replace Excel cell formulas containing a user-defined formula syntax / string (e.g. Hyperion Retrieve formulas or your CellworXs® formulas but also links to other files) with their calculated cell values. All other formulas in the spreadsheet are not impacted, thus keeping a formula audit trail.
- Restore prior valued formulas even after having saved the workbook.
- Share Excel files with other users who do not have, or should not have, access to the detailed source data. Avoids the '#VALUE!' error in spreadsheet cells if the other user refreshes the file. Also useful for remote off-data source working or for the creation of data input templates.
- Linked Excel files: Go beyond the standard functionality offered by Excel to better manage linked spreadsheets: exactly locate links, unlink/replace links, restore previously replaced links.
